Six simple Fundametal Asanas (standing positions) build the fundament for Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Practice.
The six fundamental Asanas of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga System are often called "standing positions", because they are composed by 6 easy standing Asanas:
1. Padangusthasana 2. Pada Hastasana 3. Utthita Trikonasana and Paravritta Trikonasana 4. Utthita Parsvakonasana and Paravritta Parsvakonasana 5. Prasarita Padottanasana A, B, C and D 6. Parsvottanasana- In fact, this might be a bit confusing as the primary series also includes some standing Asanas at its beginning. -
Anyway, the six fundamental Asanas are right at the begin of every Ashtanga Yoga practice. No matter how advanced you are, after 5 rounds of Surya Namaskara A and B you start with the fundamental Asanas.
Here it is, where you carry the rhythm, you have set up in Surya Namaskara A and B, in a flow from Asana to Asana.
With this solid basis you are perfectly prepared to enter which series ever you are up to practice (primary series, intermediate series, advanced series).
