Intermediate Series (Nadi Shodana / second serie) brings the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Practice from an physical to an more energetic level.
While the Primary Series is focused more on the physical body the Intermediate Series sets its focus mostly on the energetic body.
The name Nadi Shodana means cleansing of the energetic canales. So the flow of Prana (= energy) is activated and harmonised.
To get benefit of Nadi Shodana it is very important to build it on the a strong fundament of primary series. Practising Nadi Shodana without having achieved profession in the Primary Series will bring too much energy in a not prepared body and cause serious danger. Normally you are prepared for this series after about two years of daily Ashtanga Yoga practice.
Some Asanas of the Intermediate Series at first feel a bit more demanding than those of Primary Series and need some time to develop. But when you started Primary Series for sure you as well needed some time to achieve some special Asanas. The same it will be with every new series. You will master all of its difficulties with practice.
