Terms and Conditions
Ronald, as a physician, and Melanie, as a psychological psychotherapist, link yoga and Western science to form a holistic yoga therapy. You will be surprised how much you can achieve within one single week with these tools.
We follow a humanistic approach and believe that there is a continuous transition between health and illness. For most mental and physical diseases and disorders, similar mechanisms apply as for the increase of our general physical wellbeing. For this reason, we offer this week for everybody who wants to strengthen their internal or external balance, irrespective of whether there are acute symptoms and conditions or not. Participants will be presented with new approaches and inspiration for their own yoga practice as well as impulses on how to transfer those strategies into everyday life.
Yoga therapy can be particularly beneficial in case of the following acute symptoms and conditions:
- orthopedic problems and conditions, e.g. problems with your back, knee, hip or shoulder
- metabolic diseases, e.g. diabetes mellitus or overweight
- cardiovascular diseases
- chronic pain diseases (e.g. fibromyalgia)
- stress and emotional dysbalances
- fear and depression
- problems in relationships (e.g. with your partner or at your work place)

Program
All of our intensive weeks start on Mondays, 2 p.m., and end on Fridays, at 11 a.m., with a joint closing circle. At the beginning of the intensive week, Melanie and Ronald will take the time to discuss your goals for the week, your health situation and, if applicable, any medical conditions with you. Moreover, you will have the chance to get to know the other, maximum number 10, participants of the intensive week. You will receive a recommendation for your individual program at AYInstitute Ulm that is tailored to your needs.
During the AYI Mysore lessons in the morning (06:00-09:00), we will work on your individual yoga practice, if necessary including therapeutical exercises in line with the AYInnovation® principles. In the afternoons and evenings, you will have the opportunity to participate in led classes at the AYI Ulm. Our current schedule can be found here: http://de.ashtangayoga.info/schule-ulm/kurse/
During the week, we also offer the opportunity to book individual lessons (50 minutes) with either Melanie (focus: mind) or Ronald (focus: body). The single lessons will take place on Tuesdays (13:00-17:00) or Thursdays (13:00-17:00). Appointments can be made after the opening round on Monday afternoon. On Friday morning, after our last Mysore practice, we will get together for the closing circle. Here, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences during the intensive week with the group. In the group and in our conversations, the focus will be on strategies for the transfer into everyday life. (How will I continue now? How will I implement what I've learned into my routines at home? )
