Organizational Information
Each day there will be two breaks of about 90 minutes each.
Upon successful participation of the MTC, you will have two months time to complete the e-learning assignments required in order to receive a certificate of completion.
Upon the successful completion of the MTC, you will receive a certificate and the course will count as credits towards any current or future AYI Teacher Training program.
It is surprising how many people carry unprocessed, stressful life experiences with them through life. This training will give you some understanding of the psychological mechanisms involved, and supports both yoga teachers and practitioners to competently handle situations that may arise as a result of these in practice or while teaching. Yoga therapy approaches will also be presented on the topic. A special focus on how psychological resilience can be cultivated and strengthened.
Focus of this MTC
During this weekend MTC we will cover the following topics:
- What is trauma and how can an event me traumatizing?
- Neurobiological causes
- The role of external stress factors which may trigger reactions based on traumatic experiences
- Yoga as a tool
- Working with people who have experienced trauma (Trauma-sensitive Yoga)
The day will begin with applied psychology. From this we will explore how we can develop a healthy yoga practice which promotes phycological health. Therapeutic approaches will follow later. Everything presented will be experienced in both theory and in practice. The MTC will end with the focus of practical implementation of what was covered.
